The ULTIMATE BOARDER is the vision of Tim Hoover, who was raised in Goleta, California, and spent his childhood surfing and skateboarding. This lifestyle gave him the feelings of freedom and escape he longed for and the peace and clarity he needed. Tim's goal was to design a challenge to take core individuals on a personal journey as well as an athletic adventure. He wanted to create more than just a head-to-head competition. He wanted to turn this lifestyle and freedom of expression into a challenge, capturing those treasured moments by athletes across the world, and turning them into a piece of history.

Tim is an award-winning filmmaker with over 14 years of professional experience on both the creative and business side of the entertainment industry. During that time he has acted as a President, VP of Development, Writer, Producer and Director. His work includes numerous films and commercials, as well as extensive production work including special events, corporate, and educational projects. He has been awarded BEST DIRECTOR, BEST FILM & the prestigious AUDIENCE FAVORITE award at various film festivals across the country for his work as a writer, producer and director.

Tim lives in Santa Barbara, CA with his wife Kelly (a former television news anchor) and three sons Chase (6), Luke (5) & Grant (1).
