Why the ULTIMATE BOARDER™ Championship?

Across the country, irrespective of proximity to mountains, skate parks or the ocean, snowboarding, skateboarding and surfing have rapidly grown in popularity and are now considered mainstream sports. In addition, corporations are building successful marketing programs surrounding these sports, creating more demand and making the sports even more accessible to young athletes.

The Ultimate Boarder championship, is the triathlon of our generation…a one-week competition to find the athlete who can conquer the art of surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding.

Ultimate Boarder was created in response to the growing popularity of these sports, and as a way to promote healthy, athletic lifestyles among young people. All in a positive and competitive environment that grooms role models and heroes for our country's next generation.

The first-ever Ultimate Boarder championship was held April 13-19, 2008. Forty-five professional and amateur athletes from around the World competed for the Ultimate Boarder title and a first place prize of $30,000. The snowboard competition was held on April 13 at Squaw Valley USA (Lake Tahoe, California), followed by the surf competition on April 16 at C Street (Ventura, California), and finished with the skateboard competition and awards ceremony on April 19 at the Ventura County Fairgrounds (Ventura, California).

In a style similar to the Tour de France, a blue jersey was awarded to the overall leader at the end of each stage of the competition.

INDO BOARD partners w/ ULTIMATE BOARDER... - November 10, 2008
Indo Board announced in October that it will be an official category sponsor for the 2009 Ultimate Boarder event. A triathlon of the action sports generation, the Ultimate Boarder Championship is a one-week competition to find the athlete who can conquer the combination of surfing, skateboarding, and snowboarding. Ultimate Boarder was created in response to the growing popularity of these sports and as a way to promote healthy, athletic lifestyles among young people.
